It was a fun "activity time" event for my 5 Yr old granddaughter. Painting various designs on the house and then finding a place in the yard to hang it for possible bird use!
Too small, overpriced for what it is.
The birdhouse, a gift for our granddaughter, was a disappointment to me. It was small. I would even say dinky. However, that is from the perspective of an older adult. The child enjoyed painting it. Question: If hung outside, would it even attract a bird to build a nest in it?
My 4 year old granddaughter called to tell me she LOVES the birdhouse. She continues to paint the birdhouse and embellish it with extras. She also plans to put it outside once spring is near. I consider this kit great for an indoor art activity now and a nature adventure later. Double bonus!
I am tremendously disappointed in the product. There was nothing mentioned in the description that this "birdhouse" is the size of a Christmas ornament and by no means an actual birdhouse. I will say that the decoration materials the kit contains are nice - and once I purchase a real birdhouse for my granddaughter we will definitely make use of them. But the house itself matches exactly the product we previously purchased at Dollar Tree- for $1.00. This is not a birdhouse kit- it is a kit to paint a very tiny birdhouse- shaped model.
My five year old grandson really enjoyed making his own birdhouse. He especially enjoyed painting it himself. It was easy enough to put together and was a great project to work on together with him. He has become more curious about bird species and likes to watch the birdhouse while the birds feed. It has stimulated his curiosity and opened conversations about nature and bird life.
Disappointed because it was too small to actually be used as a real birdhouse. We returned it.
This was a gift to my four year old granddaughter who was moving to a new home. I told her it was a housewarming gift which confused her greatly! She couldn't wait to hand it from a tree. I hope a nice small bird family makes use of it.
My 5 year old granddaughter couldn't wait to start making this birdhouse! She was so proud of the final result and it is now hanging in her playhouse! She is very proud of it!
This birdhouse was an Easter gift for our 3 year old granddaughter. We were receiving photos all afternoon Easter afternoon! It's such a GREAT project they all worked on together!
The birdhouses were a gift for my grandsons in Pennsylvania. My daughter sent a photo of them painting them. I think they enjoyed it. I will continue to send them projects to keep them occupied and engaged. Thank you for providing activities for children during this horrific pandemic.
Overall, the kit is great It had a good selection of paints, and feathers for decoration, and everything needed to complete the project. The birdhouse itself is very small and not terribly sturdy, so I don't know how it will function ask an actual birdhouse, but for a child's project, it was good enough. The one negative is the "keepsake". The bonus keepsake item arrived broken, though we were able to fix it.
The birdhouse was a wonderful project for my grandson to work on with his parents. However, the bird whistle was cracked and clogged with extra wood, so it didn't work well.
Great purchase for a young girl while loves art abt nature.
I purchased this as gift for my autistic grandson. I live out of the country so am not there to observe. My daughter sent me a photo of the birdhouse when it arrived and it looked lovely. My grandson and his family enjoy all of the birds in their yard so I thought this may be a fun activity them. That's all I can say at this time!
He completed the project in one sitting. I think it would have been better if he could have put it together as well as just painted it.
